Tulips by a Dark Window

Caroline Bailey describes this painting as follows:

‘I have a collection of textiles which I use to juxtapose pattern and colour with my still life compositions. I assemble them on a table and move them around with flowers and objects. The zigzag pattern is a small piece of Indian hand-blocked cotton which I dearly love and it makes an appearance in many of my still life paintings.’
