Terms & Conditions

Pricing

The selling price of an artwork includes VAT on UK purchases.

Dimensions

The dimensions stated on our UK website are given in centimetres (height x width). On our US website all dimensions are given in inches. Depending on whether the item is unframed or framed we state either the size of the image or outer frame dimensions.

Mounting

Watermark Gallery uses acid-free mountboard for all original artworks, unless stated otherwise.

Framing and glazing

Information about whether an artwork is framed or not will be included on each product listing. If you are not sure please do send us an email enquiry and we will be happy to clarify. For unframed artworks, mounting and framing can all be arranged in-house and we will be happy to advise on appropriate frame moulding options, to museum standards. We can also order and fit these for you. We use Tru-Vue Conservation-Clear, ultra-violet glass for many artworks that have been framed by Watermark Gallery. We can check the type of glass used by artists who frame their own works. Any additional costs for framing and glazing would need to be paid for in full before the order is confirmed.

For international deliveries we have a policy of removing the glass from any painting before shipping. This is to reduce the risk of damage in transit. It also reduces the weight and the cost. As this process takes place in our conservation studio there may be a delay of up to 7 days before the artwork is shipped. Read more about delivery and returns

Prints

Our limited edition, digital archival (or giclee) prints are posted out either flat packed or rolled in cardboard tubes, with acid-free tissue, unless you would like your print mounted or framed. Where we offer limited edition, high-quality reproductions of an artist’s works, they will be signed and numbered by the artist. We can provide authentication certificates free of charge, on request.

Delivery

A charge is made to cover postage and packing costs and is dependent on the weight and size of each item, once it is fully wrapped. We aim to ship all artworks within five working days. Read more about delivery and returns

Returns and cancellation

We offer a full money back guarantee on all artwork. If you are not fully satisfied with your purchase you can return it to us within 14 days, in the condition in which it was received, for a full refund. Some items of jewellery (e.g. earrings) cannot be returned, unless they are faulty.

Methods of payment

We can accept payment for artworks in full using our secure payment systems. In our gallery we use izettle, which accepts all major debit and credit cards. We also accept cash in our gallery. Our website uses Stripe. This gives the option to pay by debit card and all major credit card, including American Express. Unfortunately, we cannot accept cheque or cash for online orders and we are unable to accept payments over the phone.

Terms and Conditions for Workshops, Courses and Events

Event Fees

To book a confirmed place on a workshop or course at Watermark Gallery the full cost of the event must be paid in advance.

Workshop fees include a deposit of £25 which is non-refundable in the event of a cancellation by the customer.

Cancellation Policy

In the event that Watermark Gallery needs to cancel a workshop or course, the total cost of the event will be refunded to the customer, to the bank account used in the initial booking.

In the event that a customer needs to cancel a booking, please do let Watermark Gallery know as soon as possible via email [email protected].

Events that are cancelled by a customer 6 weeks or more before the course date will be refunded in full, less the non-refundable admin deposit of £25.

Events that are cancelled by a customer less than 6 weeks before the course will still incur the full course fee unless we can find a replacement to fill the place.

It is possible to swap places with someone, or to allow another person to take up a place on one of our workshops or courses. To do this we do require confirmation by email giving the full contact details for the person taking the place.

Workshop Times

Please read the course information on our website carefully. Usually our day workshops start at 10am and finish at 4pm. We usually break for a 45 minute lunch break at a time to suit the tutor and course participants on the day. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of the course on day one.

Materials

Unless otherwise stated, all course materials needed for completing a workshop will be provided by the tutor and are included in the course fees. If you require additional materials (e.g. clay for ceramics) it may be possible to buy direct from the tutor on the day.

Lunch and refreshments

Course fees include a cold buffet lunch (sandwiches and or quiche and salad) which will be provided at a local cafe close to the gallery. We also include morning and afternoon refreshments (tea, coffee, biscuits) on each day. Please confirm by email if you have any special dietary requirements that we need to be aware of.
